Hi Reader, Happy Friday! This week I said no to a project that didn't feel like a good fit. I'd had an enquiry from a lead that had got in touch at the end of last year and were getting back into things. But instead of the original scope, they wanted something a bit different that's slightly out of my wheelhouse and not something I particularly enjoy. I hummed and hawed over it for a good 24 hours before deciding that, no, this is the year I stop taking on work that doesn't make me excited. It's SCARY, yes, but I felt a huge sense of relief when I sent the message saying no, and that's got to count for something right?! P.S. This week on Instagram, I shared why a lot of freelancers struggle to make money. See why here. And don't forget to give me a follow for regular tips and tricks! Here's what I've been up to this week work-wise: 👉 I wrote 3 pieces for clients (including Experlogix and Klaviyo) 👉 I refreshed 2 pieces for Shopify 👉 I had a briefing call with a client for a new project 👉 I launched Workflow Wizard 2.0 👉 I pre-recorded my training for the Freelance Freedom Summit ⏱ Approx hours spent on client work this week: ~15 ⏱ Approx hours spent on non-client work: ~3 💰 Total revenue this week: £3,700 Friday Freelance Tip ✨ After weeks of second-guessing myself, overthinking pricing, and battling major imposter syndrome, Workflow Wizard 2.0 is finally out in the world. And people are actually buying it. Over 30 freelancers have already jumped in, and the feedback has been incredible. Honestly? Selling something is weird. I can confidently pitch myself to clients all day, but when it came to selling my own product, it felt… different. Harder. Like I was suddenly questioning whether I had any authority to put something out there. But the truth is, I KNOW this is valuable. I built Workflow Wizard because it’s exactly what I wished I had when I started freelancing—before I cobbled together a messy mix of Notion pages, Google Docs, and random sticky notes to keep track of projects, pitches, and onboarding. Freelancing already comes with enough uncertainty. You shouldn’t have to waste time figuring out where you saved that client contract or rewriting the same email for the 100th time. So, if you’ve ever felt like:
It’s designed specifically for freelancers (because most project management tools? They’re made for teams—not solo business owners). Instead of hacking together a dozen different apps, you get one streamlined dashboard that keeps everything in one place. Some of my favorite features: ✔️ A simple pipeline to track pitches and follow-ups so you never forget about potential gigs ✔️ Ready-to-use templates for onboarding, project kickoffs, and check-ins (no more writing the same emails from scratch!) ✔️ A client dashboard to keep track of deliverables, invoices, and deadlines—all at a glance ✔️ A project tracker that actually makes sense for freelancers (because we juggle multiple clients, not just one big project at a time) If you want to simplify the admin side of freelancing and free up more time for actual work (or, you know, a midweek coffee date that doesn’t involve frantically checking your inbox), you can check out Workflow Wizard here. Use discount code WW2LAUNCH at checkout to get it for the cheapest price it'll ever be. If you're an existing Workflow Wizard customer, hit reply, and I'll send you a VIP discount code to upgrade. And if you’ve been thinking about launching something of your own but imposter syndrome is creeping in? Here’s your sign to go for it. The right people will see the value in what you create. And if you're feeling the imposter syndrome creeping in, here's what to do. Whenever I start feeling like I’m not “qualified” enough to launch something or pitch a big client, I remind myself of these things: 1️⃣ I look at the evidence. I go back through client testimonials, kind messages, and past successes to remind myself that I do know what I’m doing. Imposter syndrome isn’t fact; it’s just fear talking. 2️⃣ I act like a "scientist". Instead of thinking of a launch or a pitch as something that will make or break my career, I treat it as an experiment. I can always tweak, improve, and learn from it. There’s no such thing as failure, just data. 3️⃣ I borrow confidence from others. When I doubt myself, I ask: “If a freelancer friend came to me with this exact fear, what would I tell them?” Spoiler: I’d probably hype them up and tell them to go for it. So I take my own advice. 4️⃣ I remember that someone needs this. Whether it’s a client who needs my skills or a freelancer who needs Workflow Wizard, there’s always someone who will benefit from what I’m putting out there. It’s selfish not to share it. 5️⃣ I just take the next step. Instead of trying to “fix” imposter syndrome before moving forward, I take action despite it. The confidence usually comes after I’ve done the scary thing, not before. We need more Freelance Money Diaries entries! If you'd like to share your finances with other freelancers (you can do it anonymously!), I'd love, love, love to hear from you.

Hi Reader, Happy Friday! Lately, I’ve noticed a strange shift in the freelance landscape — and if you’ve been feeling it too, you’re definitely not imagining things. Projects that used to kick off within a week now linger in inboxes. Some leads circle back weeks later with a completely different scope. Others go quiet after asking for proposals. But here’s the thing I’m reminding myself: slow isn’t the same as no. Just because leads are taking longer to convert doesn’t mean you’re doing...
Hi Reader, Happy Friday! In freelancing, we often confuse busy with successful. We’ve been taught to measure progress by how full our calendar is or how many unread emails we have. But the truth is, some of your most important growth happens in the quieter seasons—the ones that feel slow, uncertain, or even a bit uncomfortable. That lull you’re in? It might be the space you need to shift gears, refocus, and realign with the kind of work you actually want to do. You’re not falling behind. P.S....
